News Insights, a Canadian publisher that produces local business guides, has included Junk Ninja in its September 2026 roundup of junk removal companies in Ottawa, and singled us out for large, mixed cleanout jobs. You can read the full guide here.
The guide is a shortlist of four Ottawa companies, each suited to a different kind of job. It points to Junk Ninja for the big, complicated clears: full-home cleanouts, hoarding cleanups, estate clearances and commercial jobs where there’s a lot to move and it isn’t all the same thing.
How News Insights evaluated the companies
The guide didn’t rank on advertising. News Insights says it evaluated companies on signals anyone can check: years in business, service range, who actually does the work, pricing model, how each company handles donation and recycling, and aggregated customer ratings, cross-checked across Google, Facebook, Yelp, HomeStars and TrustedPros. The guide describes the four as a shortlist rather than a strict one-to-four ranking, with each leading for a different type of job.
What the recognition means
News Insights didn’t call Junk Ninja the right choice for every job. It named us for large, mixed cleanouts specifically, the kind of work that involves a lot of different material at once: full-home cleanouts, estate clearances, hoarding situations and larger commercial clearouts.
<h2Why Junk Ninja was included
Junk Ninja has served Ottawa since 2010, the longest track record of the four. At the time of News Insights’ September 2026 review, we held a 4.8 Google rating from 627 reviews. We cover the whole job: furniture, appliances, renovation debris, yard waste, and estate and general junk, plus piano removal and bin rentals for when you’d rather load at your own pace. Crews work two-hour arrival windows, and you get the full price for your load before anyone lifts a thing. More than 75% of what we collect is recycled, donated or repurposed rather than sent to Trail Road.
Why this matters in Ottawa
Since September 2024 the city collects a maximum of three garbage items per household every two weeks at the curb, and each bulky item, such as a piece of furniture, counts as one (City of Ottawa). Construction and renovation debris generally isn’t part of regular curbside collection, so check the City’s rules before setting it out, and fridges, freezers and ACs need their refrigerant removed and tagged by a certified technician before a landfill will accept them. For a cleanout or a renovation, that makes a single truck simpler than spreading disposal across months of collection days.
If you’ve got a big clear-out coming up, we’ll come look at it and give you the full price on the spot. Call us at (613) 825-0707 or request a free quote. Thanks to News Insights for the mention.
