Do you have an old television gathering dust in your basement that you’d love to get rid of? Have you recently upgraded your microwave but haven’t had a chance to safely dispose of the old one? Cracked iPhones amassing in a drawer? We have an opportunity for you to get rid of all your electronic waste and help a great cause this holiday season: the Ottawa Food Bank.
On December 8th and 9th, keep an eye out for our friendly crews around the city. Whether you live in downtown Ottawa, Kanata, Barrhaven, or Orleans, we will come to your door and haul away your old televisions, electronics, computer equipment, phones, and other small electronic waste in our big shiny trucks.
Just book an appointment, and we’ll do a curbside pickup or come to your home or office. Just point out the items you want taken away, and our friendly crew members will carry it out for you. Monitors, toasters, speakers, telephones, printers, fax machines – we haul it all. We’ll even pick up small electronics like cell phones, cameras, computer mice, and more.
All we ask is a minimum $20 donation in support of the Ottawa Food Bank instead of regular removal costs. We hope to raise $5,000 in support of this great cause, and with your help we know we can shatter that goal!

If you prefer, you can also visit our Nepean office on December 7th, 8th or 9th for free drop off into one of our dumpsters between the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Your $20 donation to the Ottawa Food Bank will go a long way to helping families in need enjoy a happy and hearty holiday season. That’s not all – on December 10th, we’ll be presenting a cheque for the Ottawa Food Bank at the Rideau Centre, during CFRA’s Christmas Cheer Telethon. Make sure you tune into the broadcast to find out how much was raised during the event, and to learn more about this fantastic cause.
Since 1984, the tireless volunteers at the Ottawa Food Bank and people just like you have been working together to end hunger in our city. The mission of the Ottawa Food Bank is a simple one: to help people get beyond hunger. Every day, the Ottawa Food Bank distributes 14 tons of food to people in need through the Ottawa area. No one should ever go hungry at Christmas time.
The annual Christmas Cheer Breakfast is one of the largest fundraising events on the calendar. Every year, hundreds of Ottawa residents and professionals gather in support of local charities throughout the city.
Make a difference this holiday season, and say goodbye to your e-waste at the same time.
